During a month long hiatus from touring with Cosmic County due to an ear surgery, Sugarlegg spent his recovery creating this acoustic blues record, reflecting on his constant state of pain and the hope to come. "Bird Inside A Cage" was the first song he attempted to record post-op and served as a catalyst for the feel and subject matter of the rest of "Sugar's Blues".
